The Spearhead Aquatics’ dryland program is designed to align with the objectives of each training group throughout the various training phases of the season, focusing on two primary goals.
The first goal is injury prevention. Swimming often involves repetitive movements, which can lead to overuse injuries. Our dryland program is customized for each age group, focusing on the development of core strength and muscular stability to significantly reduce the likelihood of such injuries.
The second goal is to enhance performance in the water. By increasing overall strength and power, promoting body awareness and proper biomechanics, and increasing muscle and bone density, we strive to develop athletes who are not only healthy, but also exceptional swimmers.
We are mindful that some swimmers may have injuries or limitations that necessitate adjustments to their dryland training. Open communication is essential in this regard. If we are informed of any injury or limitation, we will adjust the training regimen to support each swimmer in achieving optimal health
While striving to achieve these objectives, we will highlight the significance of proper recovery following workouts. We will instruct the athletes on utilizing recovery tools, including stretching straps/bands, foam rollers, and massage guns, during our dryland sessions.
